Job Description

The Policy & Practice Advisor leads the development of Policy and Practice across Ambrose School Age Care services. This role will work collaboratively with service leaders to drive and maintain high quality compliance and practices that align with the Education and Care National Law and Regulations. Working with the Senior Manager and operations team, this role will advise on sector best practice and quality strategies supported by policy requirements.

The ECEC Policy and Practice Advisor is responsible for:

  • Leading and coordinating the creation and ongoing review of Ambrose policies, procedures, templates, and forms in line with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Creating and maintaining a document control strategy for Ambrose policies and procedures library to be updated, distributed and communicated to relevant stakeholders accordingly.
  • Assisting and providing guidance and advice on implementation of Diocese, CDPSL & Ambrose policies and procedures at the service level.
  • Provide a range of ongoing support, coaching, role modelling, and mentoring for compliance and practice improvement.
  • Develop and implement best practice and quality strategies.
  • Support Senior Manager to build capacity by developing and implementing training and mentoring programs for team members across all services.
  • Provide support, advice and guidance to School Age Care service leaders on formal regulatory matters.
  • Digital library management, including SharePoint, Microsoft Teams and other digital platforms.
  • Responsible for disseminating relevant communication from the Department of Education.
  • Oversee NQA ITS portal management.
  • Assist and/or lead projects and implementation where requested by the Senior Manager.

Desired Skills and Experience

Qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum attainment of Diploma qualification in Children’s Services or equivalent – For school Age Care.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Area Coordinator role supporting multiple service in Early Childhood or School Age Care.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting the provision of the Educational Policy and Procedure across large numbers of services.
  • Demonstrated experience in supporting service through improvement of compliance practices
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of the Education and Care National Law, Regulation and Standards.
  • Current Driver’s License and own vehicle.
  • Valid and paid NSW Working with Children’s Check.
