Ambrose® is a not-for-profit social enterprise providing Early Years Learning and School Aged Care services. With a team of 550 employees and growing, we currently operate over 50 school age care and early years education services across Catholic schools in the Greater Western Sydney and the Blue Mountains region. Ambrose is operated by Community Ventures which forms part of the Catholic Diocese of Parramatta. Our mission at Community Ventures is to support families, delivering quality development and learning experiences for all children and services built on the values of Respect, Encouragement and Care. We are one of several agencies in the Parramatta Diocese working collaboratively to support all members of the community.
Job Description
Educators are expected to be an active team member of a team which provides high quality early childhood education and care to children. This includes but is not limited to:
Developing strong relationships with children at the service
Developing strong relationships that support and partner with families and the community
Implementing the policies and associated procedures of the organisation at all times and
Working with other staff towards continuous improvement in all areas of the service’s operations.

Certificate III in Children’s Services

Engage in professional conversations with other professionals as is appropriate and with the knowledge of the Educational Leader or Nominated Supervisor.

Collaborate with community resources, therapists and networking committees to promote the best outcomes for children, families and the early years’ education and care community.

Knowledge
A minimum of 6 months’ experience in an approved early years education and care service is desirable
Knowledge and understanding of the National Quality Standards
Understanding of the Early Years Learning Framework
Knowledge and understanding of the Early Childhood Australia Code of ethics to apply these to personal practices and goals.
Understanding and knowledge of child and brain development theory
Understanding of the Education and Care Services National Law Act 2010
Understanding of the Education and Care Services Regulations 2011
Capability
Understanding and willingness to take on the role of Responsible Person when required
Ability to interact with children and their families in a positive, sensitive and respectful manner
Demonstrate a strong commitment and experience in the provision of quality child care in a genuinely caring environment
Demonstrated experience in curriculum, supporting curriculum development and documenting children’s learning and development.
Experience in planning and programming for individual children and groups using emergent curriculum
Ability to relate effectively with children and their families
Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work as part of a team
Good written and oral English communication skills
Ability to maintain and explain the importance of confidentiality requirements in order to coach others
Adaptability and flexibility, including the preparedness and willingness to work at different Early Years Education and Care services if required.
